Today we will learn some basic information about Computer Hardware, As we are using computer on our daily basis so it is important to know the various hardware used in computer, so in today article we will learn basic about computer hardware.
What is hardware?
A parts of computer that we can see and touch and can repair, is called Computer Hardware.
Example: Keyboard, Mouse, Printer, Monitor
What is Software?
A part of computer that we can see but can not touch is called computer software.
Example: Window 10, MS Paint, Notepad, Paint
Based on the function, we can divided hardware in four types
Types of hardware
- Input Device
- Output Device
- Processing Device
- Storage Device
Input Device
To enter some data on computer we are using input device.
Following are the input devices:
- Keyboard
- Mouse
- Joystick
- Scanner
- OMR
- OCR
- Web camera and so on
Output Device
Based on the input the computer do process and generate output that shows on the output device.
Following are the output device
- Monitor
- Plotter
- Printer
- Speaker
- Projector
- Headphone and so on
Storage Device
Those device used to store the data is called storage device.
Following are the storage device
- CD, DVD
- Pen Drive
- Floppy Disk
- Hard Disk (HDD)
- Flash Drive
- Cloud storage and so on
Processing Device
The main part of the computer is CPU.
CPU is doing all the process on the computer, that’s why CPU called Central Processing Unit.
GPU is also used for Graphical Processing Unit.
CPU is called Brain of the computer
Main part of the CPU are:
- ALU (Arithmetic Logical Unit)
- MU (Memory Unit)
- CU (Control Unit)
Motherboard is the main circuit of computer that connect all the parts of the computer.
The first micro processor developed by Intel
In year 1971 and the name is ‘Intel 4004’.
